This is an art gallery, except this type of art is woven, not drawn.
Under Jason Moattar’s leadership, Moattar embarked on its first fully in-house editorial production – an evocative exploration of heirloom, history, and home. Produced by Mehr Creative from initial concept to final image selection, the shoot took place at a secluded residence nestled in the pastoral beauty of Chattahoochee Hills near Serenbe.
Photographed by Nashville-based Emily Dorio, with styling by Samantha Sanford, the series presents a quiet grandeur. This is a narrative told through texture, light, and the language of hand-knotted rugs. Laid across verdant hills, layered beneath a picnic of apples and books, or anchoring an intimate bedroom retreat, the rugs speak in time-softened tones and richly crafted lineage. The result is a visual ode to the idea of a threaded history – rugs as living artifacts, quietly echoing the lives they’ve touched and the homes they’ve warmed.
This is just the beginning of a new chapter at Moattar – where tradition meets intention, and every knot ties us back to a deeper sense of place.
